Abstract Christian nationalist ideology was among the strongest predictors of Americans voting for Trump in 2016 and remained a strong predictor intent to vote him prior 2020 election. This study uses national data examine whether nationalism could potentially convert previously-unconverted supporting or, conversely, prevent apostatizing from Trump. Among who did not 2016, increased likelihood that they intended 2020, but only those earlier at all or voted third party. Conversely, reduced planned on Democratic party candidate. thus inclined previously his way inoculated previous Trump-voters considering other candidates 2020.
